My client makes outstanding furniture, upholstery, lighting, fabrics, wallpapers and interior necessities. Some collections are inspired by historical designs, from classical antiquities to Art Deco furniture, while others are entirely new creations.
To support the head of production they are looking to add a production manager to their current team on a temp to basis. The time line for this post to have someone in place temp for the beginning of Jan and then if both parties are happy have them move onto a perm contract in April time. The client has set out some main points for the role below but the key is to have someone who can come in and hit the ground running. Ideally you will have a background in this sector so you understand the environment and procedures and can work with the client in their production from day one
Manage the day to day production schedule, ensuring orders are ready on time and to specification
Create costs cards for new designs and prototypes based on cost of materials and labour, estimate production cycle times
General workshop clearance to accommodate increased manufacturing, paint shop and lighting bench
Ensure each product has standard construction drawings
Monthly stock takes
Sort through all jigs ensuring they are labelled up with product name or if a special piece we have the order number attached. Any which cannot be connected to can be thrown away.
Racking/storage in unit 31 for all jigs, hand tools, screws etc
Racking for archive boxes
Manage the installation of the Spray shop (with Steve) and QC area
Create an approved finishes board
Create full bill of material cards for all standard products, identify suppliers and negotiate terms of business
Create workflow, with images for all standard products
Implement Health & Safety procedures with the HR & Office Administrator, who is based in London
Supplier price review and source alternative suppliers
CCTV installation to the outside only
Schedule of machine inspection
